Five on Friday: First Edition

Today I am linking up with ChristinaDarciNatasha, and April to share five things that have been on my mind this week!

1. Has anyone tried these Milky Way simply caramel bites? Let me give you a warning if you haven't, be prepared to be addicted, they are heavenly! I made some cheesecake caramel brownies the other day and the recipe called for these and suggested getting 2 bags so you could snack on the other bag while making the brownies, so of course I had to follow the recipe and pick up 2 bags. Great idea because they are so yummy! Bad idea because I can't/won't stop the snacking!

                                                                                           Via

2. Some of my favorite tv shows are back on the air, which makes me super excited! I lovvvvee tv shows and it makes me so happy seeing my DVR full of my favorites including: Suits, How To Get Away With Murder, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Fixer Upper, Property Brothers, Nashville, Pretty Little Liars, Dance Moms. My list is never ending, and yes I know it is kinda sad.

3. I have 2 confessions: One, I decided to watch The Bachelor this season. It has been years since I watched a season of The Bachelor and for some reason I cannot get enough of this season. These girls are CRAY-ZZZY and it makes me laugh and how ridiculous some of them can be over the silliest of things. Two, I am super late on this train but I am totally addicted to Downton Abbey! Ahhh the moment Mary, Anna, and Cora carried "Four" (from Divergent) or Kemal Pamuk across the giant house I was hooked!
This buzzfeed article accurately describes my relationship with Downton Abbey.

4. Consignment Sales: I am going to my very first one this afternoon and am so excited! I am hoping to pick up some cute (and cheap) baby clothes and a nursery glider for my sweet Baby B! After listening to some of the women in one of my connect groups I am pretty sure I will be addicted! I will definitely give yall an update on my first experience!

5. My super cute niece and nephew are coming in town this evening! I am so excited for their arrival. They can be a hand full but I always have the best time with the two of them and laugh the whole time I am with them!

Check back tomorrow for my 25 week bumpdate!

Bumpdate: 25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks, this second trimester is flying by, less than 2 weeks until I am officially in my 3rd trimester.

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of a cauliflower.

Weight gain: I am going to go with 10 lbs.

Maternity clothes: I still haven't bought any maternity tops but am definitely using my belly band every day I wear jeans

Stretch marks: Not yet, still working on preventing them though!

Sleep: Having a hard time switching from a back sleeper to a side sleeper, but other than that I can't complain.

Gender: Boy! Sweet baby Barrett Upton!

Movement: Baby B is still moving around quite a bit and I love it!

Best moments this week: Finally this week someone asked me if I was pregnant! I was honestly thrilled because I feel like I am still in that awkward phase of "is that a baby bump OR does she just carry her weight in her stomach"
I got my hair done yesterday, I love love love getting my hair done and it doesn't hurt that my hair stylist is so sweet and always makes for great conversation!
I went to my first consignment sale last night, it was a blast and I got a ton of super cute baby clothes for Baby B!

Looking forward to: I've got a lot I am looking forward to this weekend! My 2 favorite kiddos got in town last night to spend the weekend with Aubie, Zach, and Jojo (yes in that order) and I cannot be more excited to spend lots of time loving on these 2 cuties! And since I know they will WEAR ME OUT, I have scheduled my first (and hopefully not last) prenatal massage for Tuesday! Z has his first swim meet with his Masters swim program today and tomorrow, I can't wait to see him in action. K, QT, and I are going to make him a poster to cheer him on :)

Food cravings: Still craving lots and lots of sweets (may have made a Krispy Kreme run one day this week). I have a new love for cereal, I just can't get enough. Panera's iced caramel latte, sooo yummy, writing that out makes me want to go grab one.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Homemade food, I can eat take out all day every day but for some very strange reason when it comes down to eating the food I've prepared I want nothing to do with it and would rather grab a bowl of cereal.

Labor Signs: More Braxton-hicks contractions.

Symptoms: As my super super sweet niece likes to tell me, I've got a "big tummy" hahaha.

Hubby: For some reason he cannot grasp the name Braxton-hicks contractions, it's so funny he will come home from work and ask if I've had anymore "Simon-Walter contractions" today. I have no idea where he gets the names he comes up with from but they are no where NEAR the actual name. I think now it's more of a joke but for the first 3-4 days he was being completely serious.

Nursery: Planning a trip to the Atlanta IKEA so I can hopefully get everything I'm missing for the nursery and heading to a consignment sale tomorrow to look for a glider!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Workouts: 3 Zumba classes, 3 yoga classes, and walks around the neighborhood with my sweet Aubs daily!

Bumpdate: 23 weeks

Another week closer to meeting my sweet baby! I forgot to post week 23 so here's weeks 23 & 24 together!

I didn't take a bump pic with my chalkboard so I had to settle for this gym selfie

How far along: 23 weeks

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of a grapefruit.

Weight gain: not exactly sure but if I had to guess I would say at least 5 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Thank goodness I can still fit into all my non maternity workout clothes so I wear those most days :) and anytime I wear jeans I am definitely rocking the belly band!

Stretch marks: Not yet, and I am working hard on trying to prevent these by applying stretch mark cream every time I get out of the shower.

Sleep:  Still pretty great! The only complaint is if I wake up after 4 am I am usually up for the day and can't fall back asleep 😕

Gender: Blue all the way

Movement: Baby B loves to move all around during relaxation time in yoga!

Best moment this week: Getting my kitchen, bedroom, and closet totally reorganized!

Looking forward to: Heading to Tennessee!

Food cravings: Los Compadres Mexican in Lebanon, STILL! Heading there to eat tonight (and probably tomorrow and maybe Saturday, I'm telling yall it's bad!) yay yay yay! And anything sweet.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Labor Signs: No

Symptoms: Just the ever growing belly.

Hubby: Bless his heart, every time I try to get him to feel Baby B kick he stops kicking.

Nursery: No progress this week, hopefully that will change this weekend!

Pregnant chicken says he is as long as a foot long sub (& now I want a Jersey Mikes sandwich:))

Weight gain: Went to my 24 week appointment on Friday and they informed me I was up a total of 5 lbs since my last appointment, making that a total of 8 pounds 😁

Maternity clothes: Still rocking my stretching workout clothes as much as possible and the belly band when I need to dress up a little more!
Thank goodness my sweet Mama sent me a care package from the Loft with a couple of new maternity pants so I have a few more options!

Stretch marks: Not yet, still working on preventing these!!!

Sleep:  I'm finding it harder and harder to get comfortable.

Gender: Baby Barrett Upton! Our sweet boy!!

Movement: Baby B has a dance party every time I eat a homemade Rice Krispy treat (I may or may not have finished off an entire pan by myself this week!)

Best moment this week: Going home to see my family! My grandma took me to my first auction while I was in town (looking for an antique dresser for cheap!) and it was such a fun/interesting experience! Sadly we didn't find a dresser, maybe next time!

Bumpdate: week 22!

I have been planning on starting these for a few weeks now but with not feeling 100% and then the holidays time slipped away. From now on I plan on doing a bumpdate once a week so that in 5 years I can remember each week of this pregnancy!

*Aubs just HAD to get in on the picture!

How far along: 22 weeks! Wooooohoooo over the halfway point!

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of the papaya. At our 20 week ultrasound he was weighing in at 15 oz. so I am pretty sure he is well over a pound by now.
According to pregnant chicken, (seriously my favorite pregnancy email, Zach and I both get excited for this once a week email updating us on our sweet babe. She has our goofy sense of humor that we love!) baby E is the size of a Barbie Doll :)

Weight gain: at my last appointment I had only gained 3 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight but I have a feeling I've gained a few more lbs these past 2 weeks.

Maternity clothes: Luckily I can still fit in all my non maternity clothes. I did go out and buy some maternity leggings and a belly band from target. Let me just tell you 2 things. 1. Maternity clothes cost an arm and leg (especially when you put in perspective you are only going to wear them for 6 months max!) 2. The maternity leggings from target are my new favorite pants and I may have wore them for 3 straight days! They are just that comfy!!

Stretch marks: Not yet, and I am working hard on trying to prevent these by applying stretch mark cream every time I get out of the shower.

Sleep:  Great! I love sleep, Z loves sleep, Baby Barrett must have inherited this trait because he never wakes me up (not even to go to the restroom in the middle of the night

Gender: Sweet Baby Boy! Barrett Upton. At our 20 week ultrasound he refused to turn and look at us but had no problem making sure we KNEW he was for sure a little boy ;)

Movement: Most evenings and some mornings B likes to kick. I love feeling it and love when Z gets to feel it as well.
Best moment this week: Going to a baby shower for my sweet niece Madelyn who will be here in March!

Looking forward to: Traveling to Tennessee on Thursday! I can't wait to see my niece and nephew and eat at all my favorite Lebanon restaurants!

Food cravings: Los Compadres Mexican in Lebanon, no other Mexican will work for this craving, seriously, I tried a local Mexican restaurant here in Prattville this past Wednesday night since Z was out of town and it just made my Los Compadres craving that much more intense.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Thank goodness nothing this week!!

Labor Signs: No

What I miss: Having both a cup of coffee and a glass of tea in the same day. I'm lucky my doctor isn't that strict about caffeine but I am still trying to cut back, which is still soooo hard!

Symptoms: My belly has finally started looking like I could possibly be pregnant, still in the phase of "is she just chunky or is she pregnant" but I'll take it!

Nursery: Picked out a few paint color samples from Sherwin Williams yesterday and will hopefully make my decision this week!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Getting back to my normal self!

Workouts: 3 Zumba classes, yoga, and walks with my sweet Aubs!

Football Favorites

With college football kicking off last week and the NFL starting last night I felt it was appropriate to dive into my five most favorite things about college football!

1. ESPN
Yes, I am that girl that gets up every morning with my cup of coffee and watches Sportscenter at least once through (some days more). Once football season begins football takes over 90% of Sportscenter/all of ESPN shows.
ESPN has a magically way of turning nobodies into somebodies. Take Kenny Hill this year, I mean seriously who would have thought the guy replacing Johnny Football would get more media time than even Johnny himself.

2. Football food
We have a few staples at the Eason house that have to be made every football Saturdays. For some reason my mind tells me that calories don't count on Gamedays so I eat and eat and eat all day (which my waistline does not love)!

3. Gameday outfits
One of the best parts of going to a game is planning your outfit. We are heading up to the UT game tomorrow and I have contemplated over my outfit all week!

4. Lee Corso's headgear prediction
I live for this 10 seconds every Saturday morning. You better believe if I can't be near a TV (like tomorrow) I will record all 3 hours of College Gameday for his prediction! Funniest part of the morning!

5. Team Spirit
Growing up my dad was a HUGE Tennessee fan. We spent our Saturdays with the UT game on the TV muted so dad could listen to the radio broadcaster on a portable radio he had set up in the living room. Now, living in Alabama with a husband who LOVES Auburn almost as much as he loves me (almost being the key word), we spend Saturdays glued to the twitter, checking and rechecking any Auburn (and I mean ANY) details, and watching the Auburn game.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and their favorite football team wins, unless your favorite team is playing Tennessee (Arkansas State) or Auburn (San Jose State)!!

Go Big Orange/War Eagle!!!

Lately

I have been slacking BIG time here on the blog lately, but I am hoping that will change.
The Easons have been pretty busy over the last two weeks so I have lots to catch everyone up on. Disclaimer- this will be a long post :)
Two weekends ago I went to Lebanon for one of my high school friends baby shower (don't even get me started on the fact that I am old enough to have close HS friends that are having babies- slow down time!) I love little get togethers like this. Since I live in Alabama I don't get to come home often and I miss catching up with old friends. The hostesses did such a great job putting this together!
Such a cute idea!
 Pick the due date!
This is Heather (the mom to be) we played HS basketball together. I can't wait to meet her sweet girl. She is due at the beginning of September, but I am hoping sweet Chasity makes an early debut while I am in TN in the middle of August. I am so happy that Heather let me celebrate this special time with her!

While at home I was able to spend some quality time with my family. We had a family dinner at one of my favorite Lebanon restaurants, Gondola! They have the best pizza and salad bar around!
My sweet Grandma Fay and Keegybop
Sunday, Quinn Thomas and I took my grandmother to Cracker Barrel before heading back home. My grandma loves Cracker Barrel and loves to hand out little "goodies" to all the waitress and hostesses. It is so sweet to watch her ball the fruit snack or m&m's in her hand and sneak them to the waitresses like no one can see her.
Y'all... I can't get enough of this sweet face. & that HAIR!!
 Sweet Bea
Quinny loved the toys section of Cracker Barrel (but who doesn't!?)
Last week Z's office had a MASSIVE inspection at their office. They have been preparing for this 2 day inspection for close to 6 months. Thankfully they did AWESOME so we decided a mini-vacay to Atlanta was much needed.
Heading to ATL
We got in town just in time to get a quick bite for dinner and head to the stadium in time for the Friday evening Braves games vs. the Phillies.
We got caught in the rain and we soaked!
Months ago when we started to plan this trip we decided we would go to a water park on Saturday, the weather had a different plan for us. It rained ALL day so we decided to we would try out TopGolf. TopGolf had a 2.5 hour long wait so we had to change our plans again. We ended up going to grab a bite to eat and then going bowling (one of Z's favorites).
We stopped at the Salt Factory to eat and it was AMAZING! The inside of the restaurant had a very industrial feel with exposed brick and ceilings. It was definitely someplace I wish they had in Montgomery, I could so see myself meeting up with some of my girl friends and having lunch here. I had a salad since I knew we would be eating pretty heavy for dinner and Z had a pizza. The salad was great but the pizza was (as my grandmother says) something to write home about. Of course I didn't take pictures of the inside of the restaurant or the pizza (blogger fail!) so you will just have to take my word for it.
Outside of The Salt Factory is Roswell
After lunch we heading to the MAIN EVENT entertainment. I was under the impression we would be heading to a run of the mill bowling alley, which this definitely was not. The whole inside was brand new with laser tag, bowling, pool tables, and a massive arcade. Needless to say, Z and I had a blast at the arcade, and when I say a blast I mean we played pretty much EVERY arcade game that would be acceptable for adults (we are both HUGE kids). Bowling was not quite as much fun as we had projected but there bowling alley was extremely high tech.
Is this Thor or my husband?
While planning for this trip our first must was a brazilian steakhouse. If you haven't already notice, Zach and I are big foodies, we plan our whole lives around what we are eating next. Fogo de Chao in Atlanta is a favorite brazilian steakhouse of ours and it did not disappoint this time. You can never go wrong with lots of good food and great conversation. We left stuffed and happy, a prefect end to our great mini-vacay.
We had to make a stop at the Cupcake ATM after dinner, I mean can anyone really pass this up!?!
Now for the most exciting news! On our way home on Sunday Z received a text from his younger brother Dan with a picture attached. Z opened it up and it was a picture of sweet baby Myleigh (our 1 year old niece) standing next to a chalkboard with "I'm going to be a BIG sister" written on it! Z immediately called Dan to confirm that the picture what we thought it meant and it did, Dan and Haley are pregnant!!! We are so excited for their little family to expand. Congratulations Dan and Haley!!!
Check out this ADORABLE picture Haley posted on her facebook to announce the news.
How cute is she!?! I die for BIG bows :)
Next week I have some pretty big news to share so check back in!

Until next time,
J

Weekend Wrap Up {4th of July}

Is the weekend really over already? What is the saying? Time flies when you are having fun, this was definitely the case for us this weekend. Let's jump right on in...

Thursday:
Zach got off a couple of hours early so we headed up to Haleyville, AL right after I got off of work. I have started to really like this drive, it is about 2.5 hrs away and gives Z and I just enough time to get caught up but not long enough that the drive becomes a chore. I loathe to drive, but with my family living 4+ hours away and Big Z's living 2.5 hrs away I am constantly driving or riding to see family.
While I hate driving, my sweet Aubs LOVES to ride in cars. LOVES IT! We cannot open the door while Aubs is outside without him jumping in.

Once we arrived at Z's parent's house we found his mom and dad outside by their pool enjoying the unusually comfortable temps. We, of course, joined in and spent the remainder of the evening outside. D & R (Z's mom and dad) have the perfect outdoor setup that provides for great evenings and mornings relaxing and enjoying nature. We love sitting outside and chatting with D & R and Aubie loves running around chasing all their birds that visit their numerous bird houses, so everyone is happy.

Friday: July 4th!!
Big Z and I both slept in until 8:30, which is extremely unusual considering when we are at home we are up no later than 7. We both grabbed a cup of coffee and ventured outside to enjoy the weather.
Z's brother and sister in law came over that morning to spend the day by the pool and grill out. They have a little baby girl, Myleigh, who turned one in April and is as cute as she can be! She just started walking, or should I say RUNNING, so we all spent the day trying to keep up with her.
We spent the day laying by the pool, watching Big Z and his brother do tricks off the diving board, grilling out, and laying out some more. It was a pretty perfect Friday if you ask me.
Haleyville, is a very small town, and this year they decided to not put on a fireworks show so we didn't see a single firework but we did hear a few :)

Saturday:
Saturday was a lot of the same as Friday, laying by the pool, good conversation, lots of fun. I did manage to show off some of my diving board tricks from my childhood (what is it about a diving board that turns us all into kids). Z & I even gave each other scores (please tell me y'all did this growing up!?).
Zach and I started our trek back to "the Gump" around 5. Not a lot went on on Saturday but none the less it was another great day.
Life is rough being a dog ;)
Happy Happy Happy Aubie laying by the pool (in the shade to stay cool)
My sweet Aubs definitely enjoyed his weekend at his grandparents house. I don't think he moved from this position the whole way home

Sunday:
Big Z and I came back home early so that we could work our Nursery duty at church Sunday morning. I love getting to help out at our church nursery, it is our small way of giving back and also getting in my baby fix for the month ;).
Z has been wanting a new sprinkler for our yard so after church we headed to Lowe's to pick a new one. We oogled over some new grills and patio furniture but we (luckily) made it out with just the new fancy sprinkler.
Sunday evening we ran by one of Z's coworker's house to meet his new baby, drop off their gift and some pizza so that they could enjoy the night off of cooking.
Y'all... if this doesn't give me baby fever, nothing will ;)

Another amazing weekend with my sweet, funny, goofy husband in the books. Can we have a 3 day weekend every weekend!?
What all fun things did you guys do over your long weekend?

Until next time!

J
