Five on Friday: Second Edition

Linking up with ChristinaAprilNatasha, and Darci for another five on Friday post.

1. I have my glucose test this morning and am super anxious about it! I have been a little worried about this test from my beginning because Gestional Diabetes is definitely something I do not want!

not looking forward to drinking this :/

2. We are heading to Nashville for my first baby shower right after Z gets off work this afternoon! I love spending time with my family and cherish each and every moment with them even more now knowing that in less than 3 months the dynamics will drastically change. I cannot wait to see all my friends and family this Sunday and celebrate sweet baby Barrett Upton!

3. Last week I was in charge of bringing snacks to our Connect Group so I decided to make these cute little mini pizzas. Let me tell you these were a HIT. Who doesn't love a bite size pizza! They are super super easy and take NO time to make! Below is the recipe so you can try it out :)

4. I am dying to purchase one of these sweet swaddle blankets for baby B BUT I just can't pull the trigger on the $74 price tag when I know that could buy enough diapers for about a month. Aren't they sooo sweet though!

 Via

5. I am finishing up the Downton Abbey series and have decided that I am not going to start a new TV series instead I am going to start a book series. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good book series? I am not super picky when it comes to the type of books I read so any suggestions are welcome!

Mini Pizza Bites:

Ingredients needed:
Flour tortillas
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Shredded Parmesan cheese
Mini pepperonis

Recipe:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees and lightly spray your muffin with nonstick spray.
Cut flour tortilla using either a round cookie cutter or if you are like me you can use the bottom of a vegetable can (Note- each tortilla will make about 4 round circles).
Place the cut outs in the bottom of the muffin pan.
Scoop one spoonful of pizza sauce in the bottom of the flour tortilla.
Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Top with 4-5 mini pepperonis (or any other pizza topping you would like).
Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes or until the tortilla is golden brown.
Enjoy :)

Bumpdate: 28 weeks

How far along: 28 weeks!

Baby Size: The baby is the size of an eggplant according to thebump.com. Pregnant chicken compares the size of baby B to a Chihuahua :)

Weight gain: I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and am definitely dreading finding out how much I have gained throughout this 6th month!

Maternity clothes: Oh yes! I am at the point where nothing is comfy (and I am ALL about being comfy) so I am living in workout clothes and leggings. I have started stealing Z's pullovers because they are the perfect size to fit over the bump, but I was informed last night that we can't share clothes :(

Stretch marks: Still trying to prevent these as much as possible!

Sleep: My sleep this week has been so-so, could be more comfortable but I am still sleeping through the night without potty breaks so I won't complain!

Gender: A sweet baby BOY! Barrett Upton we are so ready to meet you!

Movement: Oh YES! I have decided baby B must be a fairly long baby because I can constantly feel him kicking my ribs one minute and head butting (or whatever body part that is) my hip bones during Zumba (which can be quite uncomfortable).

Best moment this week: Z's parents came in town and we ate at my favorite restaurant in Millbrook, The Catfish House! It never disappoints. Also, Z's mom brought a few little gifts for B and I just love love them!

Looking forward to: So much! I don't know if looking forward to is the right word or anxiously awaiting is more appropriate but I have my glucose test tomorrow, I am definitely worried about this because of how much sweets I have consumed this pregnancy, let's just say I NEVER miss a day without eating some kind of dessert. My first baby shower is this weekend in Nashville, my cousin and aunt are throwing it and I can't wait! I love trips home to Tennessee so I am definitely excited about heading there tomorrow!

Food cravings: Egg sandwiches, cereal, Mac and cheese, sparking white (or red) grape juice

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Labor Signs: None

What I miss: Being able to have a glass of Moscoto, which is kinda strange because I am not one who usually even thinks about having a glass of wine.

Symptoms: Pregnancy brain, it's a real thing yall! I am already a pretty spacey/forgetful person add in being pregnant and I am lucky I remember my name :)

Nursery: No update on the nursery this week. Atlanta trip with my mom is planned so at least that's a little something.

Belly Button in or out? In but starting to flatten? Haha

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Excited! Anxious!

Workouts: 3 Zumba classes, 2 yoga classes, walks with my Aubs most days but these have slacked the past couple of days due to the super cold temps.

*If y'all don't mind say a little prayer for my glucose test tomorrow :)

Bumpdate: 26 and 27 weeks

How far along: 26 weeks, last week of my second trimester

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of a head of lettuce.

Weight gain: I have a little addiction to Panera's iced caramel latte so I haven't stepped on the scale all week in fear of the number on the scale.

Maternity clothes: I still haven't bought any maternity tops but am definitely using my belly band every day I wear jeans

Stretch marks: Not yet, still working on preventing them though!

Sleep: Having a hard time switching from a back sleeper to a side sleeper, but other than that I can't complain.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Baby B is most active after I eat anything sweet!

Best moments this week: Having my niece and nephew in town. I love spending time with them, they are so cute and so funny and bring me so much joy! I also really enjoyed getting my prenatal massage this week :) an hour of relaxing is just what this pregnant lady needed!

Looking forward to: I'm heading to Daphne on Thursday to spend the weekend with Zach while he is on standby for Mardi-Gras.

Food cravings: Sweeeeeeeeeets

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing that I can think of.

Labor Signs: nope

Hubby: He is getting more and more excited about Baby B and it's so sweet to talk about his excitement

Nursery: Sadly nothing to report.

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Workouts: Zumba, yoga, and walks! I am trying to stay as active as possible throughout this pregnancy. Not only have I heard exercising during pregnancy helps labor, it also makes me feel sooo good! I can tell I am not able to push myself as hard as I usually try to and I am trying to listen to my body (which is a little hard for the competitive side of me).

How far along: 27 weeks, officially in my third trimester according to my sprout app!

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of a head of rutabaga (I agree that is maybe the strangest fruit to compare a baby to!)

Weight gain: According to my at home scale I am up 16lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm pretty sure I gained about 5 lbs this past weekend from not doing my normal workouts and eating sooo much while down in Daphne.

Maternity clothes: Same as last week.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Sleeping great this week!

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Lots!

Best moments this week: Spending some precious alone time with my sweet sweet husband. I am so lucky he is so understanding during this whole pregnancy.

Looking forward to: Zach's parents are coming in town on Friday and I think we are going to take them to one of our favorite seafood restaurants!

Food cravings: Mexican food

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing that I can think of.

Labor Signs: none

Symptoms: HORMONES! I had pregnancy meltdown #3 over this past weekend.

Nursery: Still nothing....

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Workouts: I definitely slacked in this area while in Daphne from Thursday-Monday. I did get in 2 hotel workouts which consisted of the elliptical and some squats and planks. I did get in 2 Zumba classes and one yoga class when I got back in town.

Five on Friday: First Edition

Today I am linking up with ChristinaDarciNatasha, and April to share five things that have been on my mind this week!

1. Has anyone tried these Milky Way simply caramel bites? Let me give you a warning if you haven't, be prepared to be addicted, they are heavenly! I made some cheesecake caramel brownies the other day and the recipe called for these and suggested getting 2 bags so you could snack on the other bag while making the brownies, so of course I had to follow the recipe and pick up 2 bags. Great idea because they are so yummy! Bad idea because I can't/won't stop the snacking!

                                                                                           Via

2. Some of my favorite tv shows are back on the air, which makes me super excited! I lovvvvee tv shows and it makes me so happy seeing my DVR full of my favorites including: Suits, How To Get Away With Murder, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Fixer Upper, Property Brothers, Nashville, Pretty Little Liars, Dance Moms. My list is never ending, and yes I know it is kinda sad.

3. I have 2 confessions: One, I decided to watch The Bachelor this season. It has been years since I watched a season of The Bachelor and for some reason I cannot get enough of this season. These girls are CRAY-ZZZY and it makes me laugh and how ridiculous some of them can be over the silliest of things. Two, I am super late on this train but I am totally addicted to Downton Abbey! Ahhh the moment Mary, Anna, and Cora carried "Four" (from Divergent) or Kemal Pamuk across the giant house I was hooked!
This buzzfeed article accurately describes my relationship with Downton Abbey.

4. Consignment Sales: I am going to my very first one this afternoon and am so excited! I am hoping to pick up some cute (and cheap) baby clothes and a nursery glider for my sweet Baby B! After listening to some of the women in one of my connect groups I am pretty sure I will be addicted! I will definitely give yall an update on my first experience!

5. My super cute niece and nephew are coming in town this evening! I am so excited for their arrival. They can be a hand full but I always have the best time with the two of them and laugh the whole time I am with them!

Check back tomorrow for my 25 week bumpdate!

Bumpdate: 25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks, this second trimester is flying by, less than 2 weeks until I am officially in my 3rd trimester.

Baby Size: According to thebump.com Baby Barrett is the size of a cauliflower.

Weight gain: I am going to go with 10 lbs.

Sweet baby Barrett Upton!

Movement: Baby B is still moving around quite a bit and I love it!

Best moments this week: Finally this week someone asked me if I was pregnant! I was honestly thrilled because I feel like I am still in that awkward phase of "is that a baby bump OR does she just carry her weight in her stomach"
I got my hair done yesterday, I love love love getting my hair done and it doesn't hurt that my hair stylist is so sweet and always makes for great conversation!
I went to my first consignment sale last night, it was a blast and I got a ton of super cute baby clothes for Baby B!

Looking forward to: I've got a lot I am looking forward to this weekend! My 2 favorite kiddos got in town last night to spend the weekend with Aubie, Zach, and Jojo (yes in that order) and I cannot be more excited to spend lots of time loving on these 2 cuties! And since I know they will WEAR ME OUT, I have scheduled my first (and hopefully not last) prenatal massage for Tuesday! Z has his first swim meet with his Masters swim program today and tomorrow, I can't wait to see him in action. K, QT, and I are going to make him a poster to cheer him on :)

Food cravings: Still craving lots and lots of sweets (may have made a Krispy Kreme run one day this week). I have a new love for cereal, I just can't get enough. Panera's iced caramel latte, sooo yummy, writing that out makes me want to go grab one.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Homemade food, I can eat take out all day every day but for some very strange reason when it comes down to eating the food I've prepared I want nothing to do with it and would rather grab a bowl of cereal.

Labor Signs: More Braxton-hicks contractions.

Symptoms: As my super super sweet niece likes to tell me, I've got a "big tummy" hahaha.

Hubby: For some reason he cannot grasp the name Braxton-hicks contractions, it's so funny he will come home from work and ask if I've had anymore "Simon-Walter contractions" today. I have no idea where he gets the names he comes up with from but they are no where NEAR the actual name. I think now it's more of a joke but for the first 3-4 days he was being completely serious.

Nursery: Planning a trip to the Atlanta IKEA so I can hopefully get everything I'm missing for the nursery and heading to a consignment sale tomorrow to look for a glider!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Workouts: 3 Zumba classes, 3 yoga classes, and walks around the neighborhood with my sweet Aubs daily!

Another week closer to meeting my sweet baby! I forgot to post week 23 so here's weeks 23 & 24 together!

Stretch marks: Not yet, and I am working hard on trying to prevent these by applying stretch mark cream every time I get out of the shower.
